Bethany Baptist History

The Church was birthed October 15, 1788. The unique brotherhood of worship at the beginning of Bethany allowed blacks to hold membership in the Church. During a time in the history of this nation’s beginnings there was a separation of races, there were still masters and slaves even. So, Bethany made a statement that welcomed men and women of all races to meet together as brothers and sisters in God’s house to worship. This practice is still true today at Bethany, people groups of all races are welcomed, accepted, and loved as we worship and fellowship together under the banner of Jesus Christ.
